Hello, Cherry Cheese writing today. You might remember my husband, John, who is sitting behind me - and this is our (then) newborn daughter, Tilsit.

Don't get fooled by this image. Sure, I doted on my daughter, and even bought her that pretty crib - which, given that we were rather tight on money back then, was in the living room rather than in a nursery...

...and this one makes it look like John paid more attention to cooking magazines...

...and to his grilled cheese obsession than to his child...

...but the truth is that he's actually a very loving father.

He hanged her diapers whenever I was busy trying to gain skill points...

...and also made sure she was fed on time.
"Drink it all up, sweetheart. It's reinforced with cottage cheese to make you smart and strong."

"It's what?!"

"Now you're all clean and your tummy's full of cheese, and you're going to take a big nap for daddy, okay?"

"Daddy has to go to work."

"Dude, that guy's crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..."

The day went by. While Tilsit slept, I occupied myself building up on my charisma by playing with a little toy I won at work.

When John returned home, he had a little surprise for us.

"Hey, sweetheart! Guess what, daddy got a promotion!"
"Oh hello, crazy man. Got any more of that cheesy milk?"

He had. He also had more sandwiches.

But it was getting late, and pretty soon it was time to go to bed.

The next day was yet another day off work for me. John and I spent the morning studying...

...he made some more you-know-whats before heading off to work...

...I studied some more on my own...

...and looked after Tilsit.

And John came home with yet another surprise.

However, a bigger surprise awaited us. It was Tilsit's birthday! We were about to find out exactly how pretty our little girl was.

And the answer was...

...very pretty. Of course.

Well, I like the chin, so shut up. My little girl is the prettiest little girl in the world, okay?

She's also the smartest little girl in the world.

And very talented too.

Anyway, while Tilsit was distracted with her new toy, we...

Er, we...

Well, you know.

"John, did you hear a little chime playing?"
"What? No, that must have been your imagination."

Time passed. John got accepted in a secret cooking club...

...and we doted on Tilsit.

As always, it was a pleasure to see her learn and grown. She's such a sweet, adorable little angel.

I then returned to work for the first time since I had Tilsit, and the maid hired by the corporation arrived.

Her name was Gardenia, if I remember correctly, and she was this freckled-faced glamazon geisha sheep-woman.

Since John had the day off, she just sat around reading the newspaper while he played with Tilsit.

To be honest, I doubt they even noticed she was there.

As Gardenia left, I arrived - and, like John, I had brought a little piece of news.

In the evening, John and I played a little chess, hoping that it would help us get more promotions...

...and then it was time for bed.

I woke up at two in the morning, as my stomach practically popped up. I was so excited about realizing I was pregnant that I was unable to fall asleep again, and so spent those quiet, lonely hours checking stuff on the internet.

Once everybody was up, we fell back into our normal routine, and I told John the great news.

I then had a soothing bubble bath...

...and then the two of us decided to celebrate the upcoming pregnancy.
"Mummy, mummy, can you read me a sto..."

"Oh, never mind."

Don't worry, dear reader, I made it up to Tilsit afterwards.

I spent the rest of the evening improving my skills...

...and much later (once again at three in the morning, I should point out), I popped again.

And life went on as usual.
"Who's daddy's little prin-EWWWW!"

"What the hell, Tilsit?"
"Ha-haa, you should have seen your face, crazy man!"

The experience seems to have brought the two of them closer together, oddly enough.

Anyway, John left for work...

...and even though I was on leave, Gardenia showed up at the usual time. Still, I'm not complaining as she cleaned up the whole place...

...and looked after Tilsit...

...while I was otherwise occupied.

And after everything was in order, she headed outside and played frozen chess.

Later, John came back with yet another promotion.

"Hello, little buddy. I'm a sous chef now, you know."
"Coo!"

With the extra money, we managed to build an upstairs floor.

However, our money was only enough to furbish the kids' bedroom. Still, more promotions would follow, I was sure of that.

Life was definitely good.

And we had another reason to get excited: it was once again Tilsit's birthday!

They grow up so fast, don't they?

She remained just as beautiful as she always was.

The first thing she did as a child was to go outside and play frozen chess in the dark...

...while the first thing John and I did after she became a child was to... well, celebrate.

And that's all for now. See you soon!

"It's what?!"

*snerk*

And she inherited John's chin! This is promising!
