The Gieke Legacy, Part 1

Aaaand here's a new attempt at a legacy challenge! This is going to be a light attempt, just for a few laughs and for me to unwind when I return home for the weekend as I'm currently taking an intensive Java course in another town during the week. I'm focusing it around a premade Maxis sim, with other Maxis sims (namely the Pleasantview townies and Bluewater Village sims, all fixed and cleaned up by
And for the record: when I decided to populate this neighbourhood, I went for different facial expressions in order to have unexpected and interesting results for Chester Gieke's descendants. It's not an uglacy or a prettacy - if I have to describe it in one word, it would probably be an "interestingacy". And yes, that's a real word, at least in this journal. Because
Anyway, on to the post.

This is 27 Rocky Road, the first house on the desert (and so far deserted) neighborhood of Taco Grande. Yes, both the 'hood and the street are named after Weird Al songs, and more things might follow this theme as the game advances.
I'm starting this by breaking the legacy rules, but it's kind of my starting point rule nowadays. Instead of placing my founder on an empty lot and building something with the remaining money, I redecorate one of my favourite Maxis lots (The Grand Estate from Apartment Life) by removing some of its perks, and then via money cheats I give the founder the exact amount of money the redecorated lot costs. That way, they might have a big house but no money left and will be forced to find a way to pay their bills as soon as possible.

And speaking of our founder, here he is. I decided to go for Chester because a) he's got an interesting face, albeit one that's just a slightly tweaked Maxis face, b) he's a really nice sim who wants to be a criminal, and I'm amused at the contradiction, and c) something tells me it might be a bit tricky to find a mother for his children. Challenge accepted.

The first thing he does is rush to the bookcase and grab a sci-fi novel. Can you tell that his OTH is Film & Literature?

As soon as he received Rod Humble's computer, I sent him to find a job. Alas, nothing on the criminal path for him yet.

At 6pm he receives the obligatory invitation for a downtown outing. As I'm using

For the first time in my game, the "group" is made up by one single sim, namely Sasha from
Also: hello there, Bella Goth.

An outing with only one sim turns out to be very easy to manage. Sasha was easily entertained by bowling (their partner was

For the fans of the premades, have an image of those two icons that are Bella Goth and Sandy Bruty bowling together.

After the outing, Chester went to the Palais de Dance, where the local vampire was seaching for something... or would that be someone?

Fortunately (or would that be "unfortunately"?) for his victim, she was more interested in picking a fight than in drinking his blood.
Things escalated for a bit, but the Contessa got bored before an actual fight broke out and decided to play some poker instead.

Meanwhile, Chester was completely oblivious to all the drama around him.

Having failed to find a single woman he didn't find repulsive, I sent Chester home - and he immediately rushed to the telescope.

I interrupted his stargazing to make him hunt for a job, but as soon as that happened...

...he returned to the telescope - and this happened.

Chester: Idontlikethis, idontlikethis, idontlikethis...
It's your fault, dear. I tried to make you stop.

The spaceship returned as soon as dawn broke...

...and spat him out.
Aliens: Tell Bella we said hi!

Don't be fooled by his look of terror.

He actually loved the experience.
Chester: That was awesome.

Chester: I can't wait to go back!
Chester... What's that sound?
Chester: What sound?
That chime-y sound. What's that?

Chester: Oh, look. My carpool's here. Talk to you soon!
Chester...
Chester: Gotta pay the bills. I can see the mailman approaching already. Bye!

When he returned hours later, he immediately grabbed a book.
Chester: Everything's normal, honest!

Chester, we need to talk about those chimes.
Chester: Sorry, I'm too tired right now. Talk to you tomorrow!

The next morning, he went back to Bigg City to visit a small establishment.

He decided to play some Mishuno, and kept going on about how repulsive all the women were. I got some strong Apollo Duckling (

The only person he found remotely attractive was Cinnamon Bun (by Shaye), a personal favorite of mine, but even in this case their chemistry was neutral - i.e., no repulsion, but no bolts, either.

He followed his usual strategy for befriending people - i.e., telling them a joke...

...and Cinnamon rewarded him by asking if she could set him up with someone.
I love you, Cinnamon.

Of course, Chester said yes. EA's Sophie Miguel doesn't seem to think this is a good idea, though.

For my enormous amusement, as I had been reminded of Apollo Ducking earlier, Chester's blind date was Apollo's grandmother Grace (also

And look - three bolts!
I really really love Cinnamon.

They immediately hit it off.

Mutual crush!

Aww.

Double shy flirting. How adorable.

And then they had their first kiss.

Everybody else was playing Myshuno upstairs, so the only witness to this was Alicia Grymm the cashier, who was not impressed.
Alicia: Meh.

Chester, where are you going?

Grace?

Alicia was even less impressed now.
Alicia: Argh, I had just cleaned that booth!

Chester and Grace: Whoo! That was AWESOME!
Well, so much for shy sims.

Oh look, someone else who is not impressed.
Mrs Crumplebottom: How dare you ruining this place with your filthy ways? Take this!
Chester: Ow! Stop that, you old bat! :D

Neither of them seems upset by the man woman with the purse.

Nope, not upset at all.
Alicia: Still meh.

Oh look, they're best friends now!
Alicia: Whatever.

All of a sudden, the place began to glow.

Oh. Of course.

The date was a huge success overall, with the Good Witch's blessing being the cherry on top.

We interrupt this to inform you that EA's Joe Carr stomps his feet while walking down the stairs. It might be something about my headphones, but I was surprised at how loud he was.

As soon as he was back home, Chester ran to the bathroom, a huge smile on his face.

The smile vanished, however, when he realized he had to clean the vomit from his toiled bowl.
Chester: Oh, pukey.

As he was busy with this, Grace showed up with a bouquet of red roses.

And then...
Baby bump: *pops*
I knew it. I. Knew. It!
Anyway, that's all for now. See you next time!
