The Gieke Legacy, Part 5

We begin at the point where we left off. After some shenanigans in the hot tub, Chester and Grace decided it was time to do some skilling.

The other children slept soundly, but Celeste would occasionally wake up, play with her dangling toys a bit more, and then fall asleep again.

Chester suddenly remembered that he was to resume work the next day, and rushed to hire a nanny.

I then heard a lot of noise and went to investigate.
Adonis (glowy-eyed Leader of the Pack) and Aeneas (grey wolf) showed up and decided to embark on a friendly (and very noisy) spar.

The sound woke Cosmo up. He didn't throw a tantrum at being awaken before his energy bar was full, as many sims tend to do, and made his bed with a smile on his face.

Oh dear. It seems the sparring is no longer a friendly one.

Ohhh, I can see why. There's a lady present.
Also, I have to say I'm amused to see I have wolves of all colours.

Grace maximized her cooking skill.

This resulted in her rolling wants for more expensive kitchen appliances, and since they have so much money I decided to indulge her, thus fulfilling three wants at the same time.

Cosmo wanted to be a good big brother.

And it seems like he's no longer claiming the teddy as his own property, as the twins get to snuggle it whenever they want now.

Aww, that's so cute. I didn't know adults could play with the babies in this activity mat.

Both the school bus and Chester's ride arrived at the same time.

With Chester gone, we get our first glimpse of the nanny. I was both curious and apprehensive, as I created this game with the Pleasantview townies and NPCs (fixed by

Pretty soon, Grace had to go to work as well, leaving the nanny alone with the girls.

By the looks of it, it looked as if this one (Calista Despret) was the competent nanny, as she spoiled the twins rotten...

...kept a close eye on them as they played...

...and kept the place clean.

Eventually the girls got too tired from playing, and went to bed.

The nanny managed to tickle Claire one last time before nap time...

...but eventually both girls were fast asleep and the nanny just sat there next to them, keeping a close watch. Definitely a keeper, as far as nannies go.
Or was she?

Pretty soon after the twins fell asleep, Celeste began crying very loudly.
Celeste: "I'M HUNGRYYYYYYY! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEE!"

Nanny: "My, what a lovely toilet they've got here. Is this marble?"
Nanny, the baby is crying.
Nanny: "What baby? The two sweet girls are sound asleep."
There's a third girl. Upstairs. Starving.
Nanny: "I hear nothing. Yep, this is one beautiful toilet."

Thankfully, Papa Chester came back almost immediately.

As did Cosmo.
Cosmo: "Still no A+!"
You're getting there, bud.

Thanks to a mod, he didn't have any homework today - which is good because River Land (

The two of them immediately got along, which is great because River is a cool kid.

Chester solved Celeste's problem. Well, he solved her main problem, as she now needed her diaper changed. Pretty soon flies here circling around the poor child, which makes me think she's probably very low on Neat points.

Grace also came back shortly after.
But wait, what's that near the boys?

Aww, so cute! A short-sized German Shepherd - a custom breed I downloaded because of

Chester once again dealt with the issue.

There you go. Now Celeste was fed and clean, and much happier. Thank you, Chester.

Cosmo showed up for Mama Grace and his new friend.

The twins were both rolling wants to learn how to walk, so both Chester and Grace indulged them.

Meanwhile, the two boys were still outside, being adorable - and it was 100% spontaneous, as I gave them no command at any point since they arrived on the lot. I just relaxed and enjoyed the adorableness.

At 6pm, however, River decided to go home - which meant he was about to miss Celeste's birthday.

Once again, I did not prompt Cosmo to do this.

Birthday time!
(And, as you can see, Chester became best friends with Cindy.)

She's very cute, while at the same time displaying the strangeness of the default Pollination Technician.

And once again a Gieke kid has a very extreme personality. (And see, I was right about the Neat points!)

The parents then resumed teaching the twins how to walk, while Celeste got herself better acquainted with the activity table (a pop-up revealed that her One True Hobby is Tinkering, by the way).

Cosmo also decided to enjoy a bit of his own One True Hobby.

Uh-oh, the nanny is back. You know what that means.

Chester is off to work once again - and we are now beginning to see the more stylish uniforms.

The nanny immediately decided to put words on teddy's mouth - and sadly, those were not the most pleasant of words.
Nanny/Teddy: "Music sucks!"
I beg to differ, madam.
Ah well, it was good to see her finally acknowledging Celeste's existence, at least.

Celeste: "Hair on face. Tickly!"
Claire: *giggles*

Once again, Cosmo wins aspiration points by being a good big brother.

It was late, and the Ducklings all decided it was time to go to bed.
Well, all but Chester, obviously, as his shift would only end at 6am.

Oh yeah, and she was awake as well.
Nanny: "All the little precious babies are asleep now, and I've got nothing else to do!"

Adonis came back and decided to make a mess very close to the front door.

Adonis: "I'd like to make myself beliiiiiiiieve that planet Earth turns slooooooooooowly..."
*sighs*

Nanny: "Stupid mutt with the stupid hole-digging and stupid fireflies."

What are you doing? There's children sleeping in the room!

Thankfully, her spidey sense must have noticed both twins displaying thought balloons with her face crossed out, and she turned off the TV before they woke up.

And then, all of a sudden, her lift appeared and she left! Chester was still to arrive home, and she's supposed to be tracking his schedule - if this had happeded with Grace also absent from home, all four children would have been taken away by social services, which is a really scary thought.
So yeah, I'm really not sure what to think about this nanny. She seemed very competent at first, which means she's not the awful one, but she has some really bad flaws. Maybe she's the so-so nanny rather than the good one?
Anyway, that's all for now. Hopefully I'll come back with some more Giekes soon!
